Physical Therapy Specialists of Florence was founded in 2010. Our company is a privately owned, independent, out-patient physical therapy practice.

Brenda has been a practicing physical therapist for over 20 years. She earned her Physical Therapy Degree from the University of South Dakota. She received her undergraduate education from the University of Montana in exercise science.
Brenda spent her first five years out of college working in outpatient orthopedic clinics in Illinois and Washington state as a staff therapist and manager. In 2000, Brenda move back home to Montana and began working in out-patient orthopedic clinics in Bitterroot Valley. Brenda achieved her OCS (Orthopedic Certified Specialist) in 2013. She is continuing her training of Strain/Counterstrain at the Postural Restoration Institute and is working towards NAIOMT manual certification. In an out-patient rehabilitation setting, she has treated numerous conditions; such as sport injuries, chronic pain, post-surgical conditions and women’s health. Brenda has given group fibromyalgia courses, back training seminars, aquatic therapy and ball classes for core strengthening. Brenda received her certification in Pilates nine years ago and has included Pilates based exercises into rehabilitation. Brenda has been a member of the APTA since 1993.
Brenda is committed to providing quality health care and continues to improve her skills through numerous continuing education courses. Brenda specializes in out-patient treatments including shoulder, knee, back, hip, neck and women’s health care and core based rehabilitation.
Brenda grew up in central Montana and returned here to work and raise a family in a state that she loves. She is committed to her community, her profession and looks forward to providing a quality and affordable service.
Alison Zmud, PTA
Alison earned her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell, Montana. During her PTA training, Alison worked with patients in neurological and orthopedic outpatient settings as well as gained experience in manual and aquatic therapies and sports medicine and rehabilitation. She focuses on functional and effective treatments and providing trust and respect to each of her patients. Alison plans to expand her clinical skills by attending continuing education courses and staying current with research and evidence-based treatments.
Alison also has a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana and an Associates of Science in Equine Management from the University of Massachusetts. She enjoys boating, skiing, running, hiking, biking, horses, bird-watching, gardening and cooking.
